Although the dominant ideology today discusses that, or even fosters, that all nations are equal in standing on international arena, the reality is actually dictated largely according to the policies of superpowers. If they constantly apply rhetoric to open more borders, economically or politically to the third world (such as constant critique of North Korea, Islamic states, or Africa), I find it troubling to apprehend why the same rhetoric cannot be applied to the so-called first nations such U.S. or Europe. Why not open up borders in Europe where people do not have to worry about visa and discriminatory penalties? I know it sounds unrealistic but I think the passport and visa issues show the still existing disequillibrum within the international politics on the contrary what is preached often.
